Oscar's Story
Life
I am a retired Senior Analyst who served with the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) in Washington, D.C. in the Defense Capabilities and Management team.
About me: After graduation I joined the U.S. Air Force. Served from July 1976 to October 1991 (Active) and from October 1991 to January 1995 (U.S. Air Force Reserves). Returned to Chicago, completed a B.S. in Electronics Management from SIU Carbondale (1995) and a master's degree, M.P.A. (Public Administration) from Governors State University (2000). c Studies with a concentration in Insurgency and Terrorism. I am the proud father of a 31-year-old daughter, Shakira. In giving back to the community, I served as President of the National Black MBA Association, Inc.'s Washington, D.C. Chapter (NBMBAA-DC) from 2007-2010 and President of the South Shore Class of 1976 Reunion Association.
Currently, I volunteer with serveral organizations, including the Friends of the Oxon Hill Library (President), the National Society of Black Engineers (Past Professional Development Chair), and the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) General Melvin J. Maas Chapter 17 in Camp Springs, Maryland (Chapter Commander).
